Yang's Kitchen in Alhambra! The mochi/cornmeal pancake is worth the drive!!! Been loving Barra Santos lately, have tried to recreate the endive salad at home. Courage is pretty amazing - if you are in town on a Monday, I've had the quickest line experience then! And if you go, as a part of your order, ask for a hottie with butter - burnt everything is my fav.
Lasita is underrated and an amazing dinner spot! I would recommend going for a pre or post dinner glass of wine at Cafe Triste since they are so close to one another. Sounds like the perfect pipeline !
I moved to Silverlake at the end of 2020 and it healed me in many ways. Now I live on the west side and I'm still trying to get over my east side snobbery. The food and wine scene is just way better over there. But I will say the Gjusta hype is well deserved. Def bookmarking this post!
Tsubaki is next to Ototo (and owned by the same people). Both are amazing, Ototo is more casual but the yakitori at Tsubaki was to die for. Anajak Thai gets booked out weeks ahead so be sure to reserve in advance :)
Amara Cafe and Settebello in Pasadena (diff from Amara’s Kitchen) and Huge Tree Pastry in Monterey Park and Kansha Creamery in Torrance! also the mochi places down there :~)

Justine’s wine bar + just what I kneaded are right next door to each other, run by the same person :))
seconding kumquat coffee & HIGHLY recommending going to the San Gabriel valley for more authentic & yummy Asian food 🫡🫡
